Revd Tony Cavanagh

Rev Tony Cavanagh

Tony was born in the North East and came to faith in 1984 when Billy Graham was visiting Roker Park Football Stadium. Soon after, he moved to London and began working with the East End Mission whilst studying. It was here that he met Mandy when they worked together in the St George's Homeless Care Centre.

They also worked together in the Methodist Seamen’s Mission in Poplar. They married in 1989. Tony trained for the ministry at Wesley College, Bristol. From there, he was a probationer minister in the Redhill and East Grinstead Circuit. He then became Superintendent of the Hemel Hempstead and Berkhamsted Circuit before moving to take up the Superintendency of the Poole Bay Circuit.

Tony and Mandy have three boys: Tom, Jacob, and Josh. Tom lives and works in Manchester; Jacob is married to Leesa and lives and works in Bournemouth; and Josh lives with his partner Jack in London.

Tony sees himself as a cheerful, hardworking, and organised person. He enjoys meeting people where they are and takes great delight in seeing people move on and grow in their life and faith. Amongst other things, he enjoys a good crime novel or box set, cooking (and eating), walking, and visiting National Trust properties and the seaside. He looks forward to meeting you.
