A few weeks ago, 36 young people and 15 leaders headed off
to the NEC for a week filled with Craft, sport, prayer and worship! Twice all
two thousand young people got together for worship and several of our young
people stood for an altar call. A group of our boys, known as “The Flying
Moles” entered a dodgeball competition, and I am proud to tell you that they
came away with the silver medal from their age category.
Perhaps one of the most wonderful things to experience
throughout the weekend was the development of the bonds between young people
from across the Circuit. Many of whom would like to get together more
frequently throughout the year, so strong did we feel this that we came up with
an idea to raise funds to make it happen whilst we were away.
We are currently in the process of creating a calendar
designed by the young people of our Circuit. Younger ones (8-11) are drawing
the pictures, and the older ones (11-18) are writing prayers themed around the
stations from the Methodist Way of Life. Our hope is that you might be willing
to purchase one of these calendars for the reasonable price of £10 to pray with
our young people and support them in coming together in faith and fellowship.
If you would like to buy a calendar, then please click on the link below and
complete the google form to let us know how many you’d like. We will be
speaking to a printer in the first week of November and it would be really
helpful to know how many people would like one. We will have the finished
calendars in the churches for collection by early December.
